What is a PCO Driver (private Hire Minicab Driver)

Introduction
To be eligible to work as a private hire minicab driver in London, you will need to be licensed by Transport for London (TFL), Public Carriage Office (PCO). It is illegal to work as a private hire minicab driver without a license. To apply for a PCO Licence, you must be aged at least 21 years old, you must have held a full UK driving licence for at least 3 years. You will need to provide a valid Criminal Record Check (DBS) check. You will also need to have complete a medical examination by your GP, you will need to pass a Topographical Skills Assessment and an English Language test. Even when you get your license, you can only work through an operator who is properly licensed by TFL.
