The nights are getting shorter and the days are getting a lot colder. That can only mean one thing – Christmas is on its way. Nowadays it’s almost impossible to avoid getting into the Christmas spirit as early as possible. After all, the adverts are flooded with Christmas ads from the 1st November onwards! If you have kids, then there’s no doubt they’ll be going on about this holiday for weeks on end. So, how about you and your family go out and enjoy some festive fun? Enjoy A Classic Panto

It’s winter which means panto season is in full swing. You and your family can swap the TV boxsets for a classic panto in the Yvonne Arnaud Theatre in Guildford. From December 9th to January 8th it will be showing the Disney classic Aladdin. If Aladdin isn’t your thing then why not watch Warwick Davis in Snow White at the New Victoria Theatre in Woking? Either way, a panto is a great way to get your family in the festive mood.

Meet Santa Claus

Make your children’s dreams come true and take them to meet Father Christmas himself. You can see jolly old St Nick in one of the many Santa’s Grottos around Surrey. A few of the most popular locations include Godstone Farm, Bocketts Farm Park, and Denbies Wine Estate. The latter is particularly popular amongst parents as it’s located in a vineyard!

Visit The Christmas Markets

One of the best things about Christmas is that it brings so many amazing little markets to Surrey. There are loads of market stalls that pop up all around the area. They include brilliant little shops that sell unique and gorgeous gifts for you to buy. However, we all know the standout features of Christmas markets is the food. You can enjoy a whole host of sweet and savoury treats, some of which are festive, all of which are delicious! One of the most popular locations is the Kingston Christmas Market that includes hundreds of stalls and takes place from now until New Year’s Eve.

Go Ice Skating

If you fancy a great family evening out, then head over to the Hampton Court Palace ice rink in East Molesey. From 25th November to 8th January you can enjoy a beautiful backdrop as you skate around the palace gardens. When you need a rest from all the skating (or falling over), then you can enjoy some festive refreshments too. The Frost Fayre Cafe supplies you with delicious treats including classic mince pies and mulled wine. Fantastic festive fun for your whole family to enjoy.
