What’s required to apply for a job as a taxi driver?
To be eligible to work as a private hire minicab driver and apply for taxi jobs in London, you will need to be licensed by the Public Carriage Office (PCO) which is part of Transport for London (TfL).
You’ll need to be at least 21 years of age and have held a full UK driving licence for a minimum of three years. Other requirements include a Criminal Record Check (DBS) and a GP medical examination. You’ll also need to pass a Topographical Skills Assessment and an English language test.
